One of Paris's most celebrated interior designers, Sarah Lavoine, describes herself as "alive, natural, and energetic." Her inherently Parisian style is characterized by a knack for versatility, color, and originality, which reflects seamlessly in her work across interiors, furniture, home goods, and even clothing. There’s no limit to the creative boundaries she pushes, and today, we’re thrilled to showcase some of her incredible interior designs!
Take, for instance, the new ephemeral café in Madeleine, where the Architecture Studio was tasked with creating a dual-purpose space—focusing on both the comfort and security of the staff while designing timeless, welcoming areas for visitors. The bold yet functional design, highlighted by the iconic bright yellow color, brings an energetic vibe to the café. Natural materials like wood countertops, parquet floors, and metal and ceramic tableware add warmth and authenticity, making these solidarity cafés truly special.
Another remarkable project is the Lagardère Paris Racing restaurant in Paris. The Studio d’Architecture de la Maison was commissioned to modernize this famous sports club’s dining area, inspired by British clubhouses. The carpet features a contemporary take on the classic tartan pattern, while subtle tennis references—like white piping on leather benches and striped flooring—pay homage to the sport. Soft wall colors, oak accents, and green marble at the bar create a cozy, inviting atmosphere, with every detail carefully considered, from the ceiling designs to the backlit bookshelves.
In the heart of Paris, Koesio’s offices underwent a stunning renovation within a Haussmannian building. The goal was to craft a contemporary, flexible workspace that complements the traditional charm of the building. From private offices to collaborative meeting rooms, the space boasts a luminous appeal enhanced by daring color choices. Custom-made furniture, like the bookshelf under the "rampant," adds to the minimalist and serene ambiance.
Sarah Lavoine also transformed a country house just an hour from Paris, preserving its historical charm while infusing it with modern elegance. Exposed wooden beams and original floor tiles harmonize with the contemporary aesthetic of Maison Sarah Lavoine. Large windows blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors, while sconces provide a warm glow at night. Mirrors and the signature "Bleu Sarah" color define the space, ensuring each piece of furniture and decor item contributes to a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
Elsewhere, the iconic Le Café de Paris in Biarritz received a complete makeover, including its restaurant, bar, and 19 guest rooms. Sarah Poniatowski aimed to create an authentic yet modern space where guests could relax and connect, blending contemporary touches with timeless elegance. The bar and rooms reflect a tranquil, inviting vibe that invites lingering and conversation.
Finally, Sarah Lavoine took on the challenge of redesigning a 250m² New York flat, turning it into a warm, modern sanctuary. Each room was meticulously planned with bespoke furniture and materials, from the walnut skylight in the dining area to the wooden and rabane bookshelf in the living room. The result is a space that feels uniquely personal yet universally inviting.
Sarah Lavoine’s work continues to inspire, proving that design can be both innovative and timeless. What do you think? Did you enjoy this exploration of her projects?
