Pallet disinfection cleaning agent cleaning method

Dental impression tray cleaning has long been a challenging issue in clinical practice. This paper focuses on finding an efficient solution to this problem. On average, one nurse is responsible for handling 50–60 trays per day, used by a dozen doctors. These trays need to be thoroughly cleaned, dried, or autoclaved before they can be reused. Each tray contains over 100 small holes designed to prevent the impression material from falling off. However, these tiny holes make the cleaning process extremely difficult and time-consuming for nurses. The algae and residue inside the holes must be carefully removed using a probe and then brushed with a copper wire brush. This manual process is not only tedious but also inefficient, failing to meet the demands of modern clinical workflows. This study evaluated and compared the effectiveness of three disinfectants: 2% Wanfu Jinan disinfectant, 5% 84 disinfectant, and 2% glutaraldehyde disinfectant. The goal was to identify a more practical and effective option for disinfecting dental impression trays in clinical settings. **Materials Used:** (1) 2% Wanfu Jinan Disinfectant (3L), primarily composed of chlorine (HZ704); (2) 5% 84 Disinfectant (3L), containing chlorine, surfactants, and synergistic stabilizing cosolvents; (3) 2% Glutaraldehyde Disinfectant (3L), made of high-purity medical glutaraldehyde with an AED enhancer. **Methods:** A total of 30 clinically used sodium alginate trays were randomly divided into three groups of 10 each. Each group was immersed in one of the three disinfectants for 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, and 4 hours. After each time interval, the trays were observed and analyzed for the effectiveness of disinfection and removal of alginate residue. Results showed that the sodium alginate on trays soaked in 2% Wanfu Jinan disinfectant gradually softened and degraded after 4 hours. After washing, the trays were clean and free of residue. In contrast, the sodium alginate in the other two groups remained attached to the trays, indicating less effective cleaning performance. This study highlights the potential of 2% Wanfu Jinan disinfectant as a more efficient and practical option for cleaning dental impression trays, offering better results than the commonly used 5% 84 and 2% glutaraldehyde solutions. Further research is needed to evaluate its long-term efficacy and safety in clinical settings.
