Normalized campus network video broadcast to help build a quality school with Chinese characteristics

Summary:

The strength of the youth is the foundation of a strong nation, and the development of education plays a crucial role in shaping the future. In China, education is evolving under the framework of national policies that emphasize science and technology as key drivers for national rejuvenation. With the rise of international online education, the country is moving toward a more digitized and standardized approach to teaching and learning. Beyond economic and military power, a nation's educational level significantly contributes to its overall humanistic development and talent cultivation. Normalizing campus network video broadcasting helps build a high-quality educational institution with distinctive Chinese characteristics. This initiative aligns with broader goals of improving educational quality, enhancing digital infrastructure, and promoting a modern learning environment. Introduction:

As technology continues to advance and the demand for innovative education grows, China’s education system is gradually shifting toward the goal of building a digital campus. This transformation aims to meet diverse educational needs and enhance the quality of teaching through advanced digital tools. Traditional methods of instruction are no longer sufficient to support the dynamic demands of modern education. Today’s campuses are equipped with both physical infrastructure—such as roads, sports fields, and classrooms—and digital infrastructure like computers, routers, and broadband networks. The introduction of normalized video teaching on campus represents a significant leap forward in creating a modern, multimedia-based educational platform.

Overview:

Many primary, secondary, and vocational schools have already implemented CCTV systems, audio broadcasting, computer labs, and video surveillance. At the same time, they have invested in robust campus networks. To further support digital campus construction and achieve diversified educational goals, our school has introduced the "Aoku" brand’s normalized campus network video broadcast system. This system supports the national policy of “three links and two platforms” and aims to drive progress in science-based education.

Background:

To realize the vision of a digital campus, our school leadership has carefully considered future growth and development. We shared the current state of our campus and the need for standardized video teaching with Polaris. We hope to collaborate with them to provide technical solutions and product support for our digital campus project. Our school has a long history of cultivating talent and maintaining a strong academic reputation. The principal and various committees have discussed how to expand our existing infrastructure, create a stronger brand presence, and lay a solid foundation for future information-based teaching applications.

Existing Infrastructure:

According to the "Spring 2015 Semester Classroom Use Program," there are 126 available classrooms across multiple buildings, including teaching buildings, training centers, laboratories, and multimedia classrooms. There is also a dedicated campus TV studio equipped with professional cameras and a fiber-optic network. Our campus features a Gigabit backbone network, a well-established LAN, and wireless connectivity.

Overall Design:

After discussions with Polaris professionals, we implemented the “Aoku Normal Campus Network Video Live Broadcast System.” This system not only supports classroom and conference live broadcasts but also expands into IPTV, campus TV, and other digital applications. This multi-functional system improves the efficiency of our equipment usage and maximizes investment returns. It meets national standards and has gained positive market feedback. After implementation at our school, this internationally recognized solution has helped us expand our networked teaching, standardized education, and scientific learning initiatives.

Process Design:

Implementation Instructions:

- The front end uses high-definition video recording equipment already installed in our school to capture synchronized video and audio signals. - We combine Polaris’ embedded hardware encoding devices to collect, encode, and transmit high-definition content over the network. - The most important component of the system is the live streaming service, which automatically receives IP streams from the front-end device and processes them for different network environments (local area network, CDN, internet, etc.). - End users can view the live stream through classroom PCs, projectors, and interactive whiteboards, allowing teachers and students to enjoy clear and smooth video. - The system’s front-end equipment is portable, enabling flexible use across different classrooms and studios for various live events, such as meetings, classes, and school activities.

Implementation List:

- **Software Platform:** Aoku Stream Media Network Video Live System Software (AOKU Media Server V5.0) – Abbreviated as AMS *Description:* Installed on the streaming media server to offer live video, recording, VOD, and web access services. *Quantity:* 1 set - **Hardware Platform:** Aoku 1U rack-mounted HD network video live broadcast machine (AOKU HT-9001) *Description:* Captures and encodes HD SDI or HDMI signals, providing live streaming via RTMP and transmitting it to the streaming media server. *Quantity:* 1 set This system marks a major step forward in transforming our campus into a modern, efficient, and technologically advanced educational environment.
