We often only pay attention to the number of pages in a book, the way to open a booklet, and the process of writing a book. However, we rarely think about how many sheets of paper it consists of, and how the pages are arranged. Make sure the page number of the book is related to the printing plate, which is the premise of the whole flow setting. With it, we know how to print, print, bind, and make books.

Full-sheet paper is printed once on one side or on both sides of folio. A book consists of multiple sheets, and one sheet can print multiple page numbers based on different versions. For example, if a page is printed with 8 pages, and the page is full of 64 (multiples of 8) pages, 8 full sheets are required. This is a case where it can be full. If the content of the book is only 60 pages, how to arrange and set page numbers for blank pages. If the book appears double-sided white pages, how to arrange?

The following is an example of offset lithographic printing presses, 32 copies, vertical cross-folding, and glue-binding books. The front and back page numbers are set as follows.

(1) If the book page number is a multiple of 32, such as 128 pages, 256 pages ....

(2) If the book has 33 pages of the word content, remove the 32 pages of the whole sheet, the remaining 33 pages of film processing, stick to the big film and then exposure, the actual process only to 8 open (ie 0.25 sheets), and then points Covering the exposure 4 times, that is to say, the entire face is covered.

(3) If the book has 42 pages of content. Remove the entire 32-page print, the remaining 10 yards, 10 ÷ 32 = 0.3125, then need to increase the white page into 12 yards, 12 ÷ 32 = 0.375, then fight 0.25 sheets, that is 8 pages, 0.25 32 32 = 8,0.375-0.25=0.125, the remaining 0.125 sheets, 0.125×32=4, and the last 4 pages (including a double-sided white page). 1 to 32 pages on one page, 33 to 40 pages on another page, pages 41 to 42 and a white page on the third page. Finally, print, re-stick, cover, or insert.

(4) If the book has 50 pages of the word content, remove the 32 pages of the entire printed sheet, there are 18 pages, of which 16 pages with 0.5 sheets, two exposures printed in full, because the layout content is repeated once, a PS version can be printed Two copies of this book. Therefore, the typesetting of a non-imprinting book is essentially a step-by-step process.

In addition, in actual production, in order to ensure not to page-out or page-flood, usually non-integral sheets and leaflets are bound together in the entire printed sheet, and not a continuous page number (1 to 32) on an entire sheet, but Pages that have been separated by one area are left to single-coded inserts.

Of course, when special page numbers appear, we can use other special folding methods, such as parallel folding and mixed folding. Taking the centerfold fold in parallel as an example, it is in accordance with the requirements of the page number order, sandwiching the first folded edge, and is often used for 6 pages and 10 pages. Mixed folding is a folding method with both parallel folds and vertical folds, both turning and turning. It is often used for 6-page, 9-page, double-folding.
