Burster was founded in 1961 by Irmgard and Hubert Burster. In 1964, the company moved its headquarters to Gernsbach, and in 1971 introduced the first fully automatic digital ohmmeter. In 1980, it passed the DKD certification of PTB and launched burster's first smart product. Burster's first microprocessor-controlled instrument was introduced in 1982. 1991 burster enabled the now common LOGO. In 1998, DIGIFORCE, a product widely used in process control, was introduced. In 2004 Burster received the title of the Top 50 Employers. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Burster's 50th anniversary in 2011, Burster introduced a number of new products including the 8661 torque sensor.

In 1991, burster's first 4-wire ohmmeter RESISTOMAT 2304 was born. This ohmmeter has an accuracy of 0.01% and a resolution of 1nΩ (0.000000001Ω). This ohmmeter was the world’s highest precision and resolution ohmmeter at the time. At present, there are dozens of types of burster ohmmeters, including micro-ohmmeters, megohmmeters, automatic-range ohmmeters, portable ohmmeters, fast-measurement ohmmeters, and cable resistance detection meters.

Burster pressure sensors include: miniature pressure sensors, high-precision pressure sensors, pressure transmitters, high pressure sensors, differential pressure sensors. Most of these sensors use stainless steel shell, a solid structure. And according to different needs and application occasions, with temperature compensation, dynamic compensation, waterproof, USB interface and other functions. The highest precision is up to 0.05%.
