On the evening of June 17, a large amount of smoke was emitted from the laboratory on the ground floor of the School of Life and Science, Peking University. Some students claimed that a large number of zebrafish were smoked to death, which would affect students' experiments and even graduation. In this regard, the person in charge of the laboratory said that the zebrafish transgenic technology and gene targeting breakthrough technology are very mature. There are no technical obstacles to rebuilding the various strains of zebrafish required for the experiment; zebrafish of important strains are preserved with frozen sperm If necessary, you can recover at any time; in addition, there are many important commonly used fish lines in many laboratories at home and abroad, and many domestic and foreign counterparts have said that they can provide these fish lines at any time.

It is understood that the thick smoke is caused by the burning of the zebrafish house power box, and the cause of the fire still needs to be further determined.
